At the moment there are some pike out there that have radio tags attached. It you catch one please be very careful not to detach the radio tag. Please take weight and report the catch. Recently a pike angler did catch one and gave a full report.

Just a handful at the moment.
One is in a lake near Virginia. Think she is around 14 lbs and was put into the lake a few months ago. She spends most of the time around the margins though sometimes goes into the deeper water.
There is another in a river. I am told this pike wandered 10 miles and went up a good sized stream to a lake , stayed there for a few days and returned to usual haunt.

The fisheries board staff would like to catch the pike in the lake near Virginia. The life of the battery is nearly up. They tried netting without success. They asked me if a few anglers could go to the lake and fish for the pike. They could be present and show the area where she is. It would be up to the anglers to entice her. I think she is around 14 lbs.
Any volunteers for a Sat or Sun soon ?

maybe in a few weeks the fish seemed to be spawning we had 13 fish for the day all jacks and all hugging the weeds we were told where she was and where she seems to hold but nothing bigger than 4.5lbs clean fish though the bigger jacks had signs of very recent teeth marks and grabs.....
