May Kingspan Qualifier

65 anglers turned at Athy today to fish the second qualifier. We fished a 6 mile stretch of water and some reasonable pike were caught. Qualifying weights were better than expected. Results were calculated in the Smugglers Bar where owner Tom Burgess kindly laid on lots of sandwiches. There was a pretty good spread of qualifiers from around the country.
1st Laurence Marshall - Keady
2nd Alan Heasley - Duleek
3rd Tommy Coffey - Durrow
4th Eddie Keogh - Trim
5th Ray Leonard - Keady.
In line with a committee decision weights and number of pike caught will not be posted but interested anglers can easily find out.
Many thanks to the Athy and District Anglers for their assistance in making the qualifier a success. Pity they couldnt do something about the strong winds !!!
Next Qualifier will be on the Suck at Athleague on 12th June.
