Competition Information

Each year, IFPAC runs The "Kingspan" National Pike Championship, the All-Ireland inter-club championship, the "DAM" National Junior pike championship and the All-Ireland junior inter-club championship.

2008/2009 Heats

The heats of the Kingspan National Pike Championship have been selected for the 2008/2009 season as follows.

Heat 1 - April 13th - River Inny, Coole
Heat 2 - May 11th - River Suck, Glinsk
Heat 3 - June 8th - Killyfoal Lake, Co. Fermanagh
Heat 4 - July 6th - Lough Egish, Co Monaghan
Heat 5 - August 10th - River Barrow, Athy
Heat 6 - Sept 7th - Lough Na Blaghy
Heat 7 - Oct 12th- River Shannon, Meelick
Heat 8 - Nov 2nd- Asseroe Lake
Heat 9 - Dec 7th- The Derries, Lough Gowna
Heat 10 - Jan 4th - Lough Gulladoo, Arva, Co. Cavan
Heat 11 - Jan 18th, Stewards Heat on Corroneery Lake

Anglers are reminded of the following competition rules (for Senior competitions):
An angler must be a member of a fully paid up affiliated club.
An angler may be refused entry to the competition without reason being given.
Anglers who act as stewards at heats will be eligible to enter a special heat for stewards provided that the person has been a steward at 4 heats and has weighed a minimum of 4 fish.
Fish can NOT be weighed by the gills. It is the responsibility of the angler to ensure this does not happen.
A maximum of two fish in a keep sack.
Objections must be made within an hour unless otherwise stated at the check-in.

All Ireland Senior Inter-Club Team Championship

The All Ireland Inter Club Team Championships will be held on Lakes in the Shercock area on November 23rd. There will be a pairs competition which will be held on the River Suck on the June Bank Holiday weekend.

The National Junior Pike Championship is split into 2 sections - under 13 and under 18. The competition is open to all as youngsters do not have to be a member of an affiliated club to compete.

At each qualifying competition each entrant will receive a free tackle goodie bag courtesy of our sponsors Pure Fishing. The entry fee is €5.

Everyone who catches a pike qualifies to fish in the Final which will be held on Sunday, August 24th 2008.

All-Ireland junior inter-club championship Final Results

This event is held in conjunction with the National Junior Pike Championship final. Teams of up to four anglers each compete for this championship.

Team members need not have qualified for the National Junior Pike Championship final.
