Location
Take
the N4 towards Carrick on Shannon, turn right at Dromod onto the Mohill
road, turn right in the center of Mohill, take the Lough Rinn road, at
the first fork bear left, then bear left again at the next fork which
is sign posted 'Gortletteragh', after about four miles turn right at the
'Fishing' sign, follow this road but do not bear left at the bottom of
the hill, proceed down to the small, gated road which leads to the car
park...Close all gates!
Overview
Drumbad lake, which is on the left of the car park, has a very
good bank that can easily accommodate over twenty anglers, depths vary
between three and five feet, the ends of the lake being the shallowest.
Rudd are the predominant species but fish over half a pound are rarely
caught, Roach and Hybrids will help to make up your total weight, there
are a good number of Tench to four and a half pounds along with a shoal
of Bream in the seven pound bracket, they do not seem to favour any particular
area so location will not be easy!
Methods
This is a great waggler water, Rudd can be a nuisance when fishing
the feeder, giving very fast bites before you can set the hook but, if
you are after the Bream, you will have to use same!
Baits
All of the usual baits work well, ring the changes
Summary
Interesting fishing
