Location

From Roosky, take the N4 towards Carrick on Shannon, four miles past Dromod you come to the lake on your left hand side.

Overview

You can fish anywhere that takes your fancy on the side of the lake nearest the main road, depths here vary between three and six feet, most visiting anglers tend to fish out towards the small island when, in fact, fishing close to the reed beds to the left of the island produces more fish and there is certainly a better chance with the Bream..
If you look up the lake from the main road you will observe three peninsulas, these areas are the most productive and have depths averaging fourteen feet, access to these swims is up the lane to the left of the lake, park on the verges, then go through the gate to where you wish to fish.
The first two peninsulas will only accommodate two to three anglers, the other, along with the small field above, will accommodate twelve.
Two things to consider if you are fishing at the top of the lake is that the bank is solid rock with very little chance of getting a bank stick in, secondly if you do not get your fish in quickly they will run into a very sharp ledge, you can loose quite a few feeders in a days fishing.
Don't be tempted to fish the bays, although they look good, the odds are that they will not produce.

Methods

A very obvious feeder water!

Hook Baits

Red Maggots, Casters, Sweet Corn or Worms etc

Summary

This is a superb lake, albeit a little exposed to the wind..
