Location
Take the Kilglass
road out of Roosky, one and a half miles and past Kilglass Church, which
is on your left, turn right down the hill, cross the Mountain River, and
take the first turn to the right, three quarters of a mile further on
you will come to a pub called 'The Silver Eel', at this point a small
stream enters Grange Lake, park near the bridge.
Overview
Access to, and
fishing from, the boat moorings at the rear of the pub is now limited
to the cruiser fraternity, nevertheless you can fish the point where the
stream enters Grange Lake. Unfortunately only two anglers can fish from
this point, however you can fish the stream which is a spawning area for
Roach, the bank from the bridge to the lake will accommodate about six
anglers, the depth varies from three to four feet, it's just right for
the whip.
Methods
Most methods work
well depending if you are on the lake or on the stream.
Hook Baits
All the usual baits.
Summary
If you are here
in May just look over the bridge.. If you see fish moving, get the gear
out, if not.. Move on!!
