Location
Take
the Kilglass road out of Roosky, one and a half miles and past Kilglass
Church, which is on your left, turn right down the hill, cross the Mountain
River, and take the first turn to the right, at the next junction follow
the signs for Lough Nablahy, opposite Nablahy's car park is a track that
leads to Lough Incha where there is ample parking on the bank.
Overview
This is a beautiful small Lough with a very good bank that will
accommodate five anglers, in contrast to other local lakes it is part
bog and part limestone, gin clear water and a carpet of blanket weed covering
the bottom will limit you to fishing the waggler off of the bottom at
long range.
Methods
The lake averages eight feet in depth at thirty yards plus so
set your float to around sic feet, this should keep your hook bait out
of the blanket weed. Although the lake contains Bream and Perch the predominant
species are Rudd and Rudd/Bream Hybrids, I consider this lake to be a
summer evening fisher, you could sit all day and just get a few Perch,
then, just as you are going home, the Rudd appear. If you have a light
weight boat then row over to the other side, the bottom here is muddy
and where the Bream can be located.
Hook Baits
All the usual baits, and perhaps fly for those evening Rudd!
Summary
Delightful!!
