Location
Take
the N4 towards Carrick on Shannon, just past Gortinty lake turn right
on the Mohill road, take the second turning on the left, the lough is
about two hundred yards down this lane on your right, park on the verge
by an old cottage, access is down a short footpath.
Overview
This lough has not been developed but two or three swims have
been made by anglers utilizing pallets, the lough is well worth mentioning
due to the fact that it contains quality fish of all the main species,
if you have a lightweight boat then row over to the small island where
you will find enough space for two anglers to fish in comfort
Methods
This is a bog lake and the water is always murky so there is no
need to fish at long range, you will find around eight feet of water on
a waggler line, there is no need to pre bait, just put in three of four
laced balls as soon as you arrive at your chosen swim, from then on apply
the 'little and often' principle, by the time you set up you should have
fish in your swim. The depth is just right for the waggler but if you
prefer the feeder it is well worth a go!
Baits
All of the usual baits work well, ring the changes
Summary
Give this lake a go!!
