Central and Regional Fisheries Boards.





102. Mr. Stanton

asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the amount of financial support made available by the Government to each regional and central fisheries board for 2002 and 2003; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources (Mr. D. Ahern):

Funding is allocated directly from the Vote of my Department to each of the central and regional fisheries boards. The allocations to the boards for 2002 and 2003 are set out in the following table. The Deputy should note that part of the allocation to the Central Fisheries Board provides for certain national programmes which that board co-ordinates among the other boards.
