Location

Take the Kilglass road out of Roosky, Take the first turning right sign posted to Kilmore and the Kon Tiki pub, follow the road for about four miles and bear right over Carranadoe Bridge, from this point you could get a bit lost because there are no signposts for this lake, follow the road and look for the Hill Street turning on your left, don't take this road, use it as a reference point only, after about half a mile further on you will see a white painted bungalow on your left standing back in a field, directly after and again on your left is a disused stone cattle shed which is very close to the road, turn left here and drive between two stone gate piers, follow this track down to a car park built at the waters edge.

Overview

Directly in front of you are two small islands, to the left of these the lake is very shallow and normally covered with weeds and Lillie pads, avoid this area, go over the stile and into the field on your right, make sure you are clear of the islands, from this point all the way up to a barbed wire fence you have deep water approximately eight feet near the car park and fourteen near the fence, the lake has a good bank but is fairly exposed.

Methods

The top three pegs are noted for the Bream with fish around three and a half pounds being the norm, there is a good head of Roach and Rudd in this lake and you can catch the odd Tench just in the edge close to the drop off, there will be a few Pike about especially if you get the Roach going!! You will have no problems fishing here in the early part of the season but weed and Lillie growth all along the bank gradually curtails fishing activities as the Summer progresses, hopefully our friends at the Fisheries Board will do something about this problem in the near future, we will then be able to enjoy the excellent fishing at Tully throughout the year.

Hook Baits

All the usual baits.

Summary

Nice lake … Pleasant surroundings..
